Cavities used to be filled exclusively with a metal amalgam, which is very effective but looks weird in your mouth and actually contains mercury, which is a concern for many people. The good news is that nowadays we can use a tooth-colored composite resin for fillings. These newfangled fillings are much more attractive and somewhat safer to use than traditional metal fillings. For this procedure we will simply numb the affected tooth and create a small opening in it, getting rid of all of the decay in the cavity. Once the decay is removed, we will then fill the hole in with that great-looking composite resin.
We always start with the most conservative treatment available and go from there according to your needs. That said, if tooth decay ever reaches the soft pulp of a tooth, a simple filling will not be enough to prevent infection and ensure that the health of the tooth can be restored. In such cases, Dr. Porter will perform what is known as a root canal. This procedure will rid the tooth of infection, replace the tooth’s pulp with an inert material, and seal it off again.
All-on-4 Dental Implants
Nothing will wreck your smile, your health, and your confidence faster than tooth loss as an adult. But nothing is better for fixing such a scenario than dental implants, including the All-On-4 package. This same-day implant procedure will allow you to leave our office with a brand-new smile in just one day! We can extract any teeth necessary, place dental implants, and load them with a restoration all in just one procedure. This is a great option for patients who need to replace an entire arch or even an entire mouth of teeth.
We like to make sure you have good options as far as restorative dentistry is concerned. You can also replace your teeth using implant-supported dentures. Removable dentures can sometimes be slippery and hard to control. Securing them with dental implants ensures that they stay exactly where they are supposed to be.
Crowns, Bridges, And More
Some of our treatments are designed for specialized functions. Crowns, bridges, and dentures are restorative components that will help your mouth look, function, and feel like it would naturally, following tooth loss, a root canal, etc.
We’ll tell you all about your options during your consultation. Speaking of that, isn’t it about time to schedule your appointment?
