Smiling is something most of us just take for granted. The simple act of it is so easy that we don’t think of it any more than we would another similar reflex, like blinking or breathing.
Yet if you’ve ever had trouble with either, such as vision problems or asthma, then you know too well what most of us take for granted.
The same is true for your smile. If you’ve been dealing with crooked, misaligned teeth, then smiling is something that you have to put a lot of thought into. There are so many considerations – What will they think? My gosh, I’m so embarrassed… I hate smiling! – that smiling can seem like far more trouble than it’s worth.
If this sounds like behavior you can relate to, I can empathize. I’ve treated countless patients from my Gillette dentist’s office in order to give them life-changing orthodontic treatments. As the only general dental practitioner in Gillette who offer orthodontic services, I’ve been correcting smiles all over Campbell County.
Orthodontic Options For Your Entire Family
Knowing which orthodontic treatment is the right one for your smile is almost as important as getting the treatment itself. When you or your little one come in for your first consultation appointment, I’ll examine what’s going on, using a digital X-ray scanner to get to the bottom of the orthodontic problem in order to devise an appropriate treatment.
Regardless of which treatment is needed, I have options for any age of every member of your family.
In most cases, patients simply want a straighter smile because it looks good. Studies have shown that the most important feature that people look for in a prospective partner is the quality of their smile. The confidence that comes from having a straight smile cannot be understated, as it will enhance virtually every aspect of your daily life, from interactions at work to how comfortable you are in social situations.
But if it were really that easy, why don’t more people – including you – seek orthodontic treatment?
Aside from a general fear of the dentist, one of the most common reasons I’ve heard from some of my initially reluctant patients is that the idea of wearing braces was overwhelming, to say the least. Understandably, you might feel even more self-conscious about your smile if you’re adding hunks of metal braces to it. For children and adolescents, this can make them a likely target for unwarranted bullying and increase their sense of awkwardness in social interactions.
Yet none of those concerns have to be endured thanks to some wonderfully discreet orthodontic treatments which you can’t get anywhere else in Gillette!
Protecting Your Privacy & Your Smile
Let’s go over a few of the different, discrete options I can use to realign your smile without letting the whole world know about it:
• Invisalign – I can craft a set of clear, thermoplastic mouth trays based on the natural shape of your smile that are specially designed to reposition your teeth just like traditional braces. Each new set of Invisalign aligners will guide your teeth one step closer to their ideal position, and they can removed whenever you need to eat or brush your teeth!
• ALF Treatment – A low-footprint orthodontic wire is placed behind your teeth, focusing on maximizing orthodontic force by strategically targeting certain teeth, and promoting facial-muscle adaptation. Because the vast majority of the wire fits behind the teeth, nobody will know you’re wearing it unless you tell them.
• Crozat Device – Similar in appearance to the aforementioned ALF, a crozat oral appliance also fits behind the teeth. It works by pressuring supporting tissues in your mouth to promote tooth realignment. Their low-profile also make brushing and flossing easy!
All of these options and more will deliver a straighter, healthier smile that’s easier to keep clean and even easier on the eyes. No meddlesome, excessive rubber bands. No wires poking holes in your cheeks. Just the results you deserve.
