You Don’t Have To Live With Missing Teeth
We take our healthy teeth for granted. Although we think they will last forever, that’s often not the case. Losing teeth can be life-changing. It can affect the way you eat, smile, and talk.
If you don’t want to live with missing teeth, the team at Synergy Dental Center in Gillette, WY, can offer you the most natural-looking, reliable tooth replacement option available: dental implants.
What Makes Dental Implants The Best Answer?
They’re more natural looking. They feel like your natural teeth. We will make sure they look just like you want them to as well.
They’re strong and stable. You’ll get back up to 100 percent of your chewing power with dental implants.
They are long-term. When properly cared for, implants will last a lifetime. You’ll treat them just like your natural teeth with regular dental exams, brushing, and flossing.
They are worry-free. Dental implants allow you to eat, talk, and laugh without the fear of the slippage you can get with dentures. And you don’t have to put them in a cup when you go to bed!
They prevent bone loss. While missing teeth can lead to health issues that could cause your jawbone to deteriorate, dental implants actually help stimulate bone growth.
They protect your healthy teeth. Some dental procedures, like bridges, require grinding on the teeth on either side. Dental implants don’t affect surrounding teeth because they are placed directly into the jawbone. Because of that, they don’t depend on neighboring teeth.
They are proven. Dental implants have been around for over 50 years and have a great track record.
Why Are Your Teeth So Important?
When you lose teeth:
You Also Lose Your Smile
Your smile is the first thing people notice about you. If you have missing teeth, you might not smile as much. Or you might cover your smile with your hand.
You Also Lose Bone Health
When you don’t replace missing teeth, you can experience debilitating bone loss.
You Also Lose The Ability To Eat Some Foods
If you have missing teeth, it makes it harder to eat certain foods that require more chewing. And even if you replace missing teeth with dentures, they can shift around in your mouth and won’t feel like real teeth. Implants feel like your real teeth.
What Can I Expect With Dental Implants?
Instead of just sitting on top of your gums like dentures do, a dental implant replaces a tooth’s root with a titanium post that will actually fuse to your jawbone. Then the dentist will place the tooth on the abutment of the implant.
Dental implant surgery is performed on an outpatient basis:
- We remove the damaged tooth.
- We prepare your jawbone for surgery.
- We place the dental implant in your jawbone.
- After you’ve had a few months to heal, we’ll place an extension of the implant (called an abutment) and then place your new artificial tooth (crown).
While a dental implant is a major dental procedure, the discomfort is manageable.
What Are the Dental Implant Options?
At Synergy Dental Center, we offer our patients a variety of dental implant options. And we will be more than happy to talk about them with you in detail. Here are some options:
Single Dental Implant – If you need only one tooth replaced, we can do it. It’s the same procedure described above, just for one tooth.
Implant-Supported Bridge – Maybe you’re missing a few teeth in a row. We make an implant-supported bridge of three or more teeth that is set into a base. Then we’ll attach the base to your jaw using dental implants. This option will vary depending on how many teeth are being replaced.
Implant-Supported Dentures – Like we said earlier, sometimes dentures can slip around in your mouth. We can secure your dentures using dental implants that will give you a more secure structure. These implant-supported dentures are more stable and reliable than removable dentures alone.
All-on-4 Dental Implants – If you have an entire arch of teeth that need to be replaced, we can create a restoration for you. We will remove any teeth necessary, place the implants, and attach your new teeth all in one procedure! We use a local anesthetic so you don’t feel any discomfort.
