Dear Dr. Porter and Staff,
I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the dental work provided to me by you and your staff. It has been a pleasure meeting all of you and getting to know you all as professionals, as well as friends. I could not be more pleased with my “new smile” and the confidence it’s given me.
I am originally from the south, but work brought me here to Gillette, WY. After arriving in 2011, I was thinking that maybe I should get my teeth cleaned. Being unfamiliar with the area, I was a little leery of calling an unfamiliar dental office. I researched dental offices in the Gillette area on the Internet, talked to a few people I had met, and crossed my fingers that I made the right choice of which office I should call to schedule an appointment. I called Big Horn Dental, had an appointment within a few days, and here is my story:
After the first visit, I was sure that I was in the right place with the right people. The entire visit from the front desk to the hygienist and even the dentist himself made me feel at home. During my first cleaning, I was made aware that I obviously had grinded my teeth and over the years I had caused damage to the extent that I was into the second layer. After viewing pictures taken of my teeth, it was obvious that they had lost length due to the grinding. I had never noticed that before!
Also on the back side of my teeth were tiny, tiny holes and signs of deterioration. I never saw it, I couldn’t feel it, so to me, my teeth were in good shape. I thought they looked great, they were straight, and they were about as white as normal teeth could get.
A couple of years prior, I had to have two implants placed in the back of my mouth because I was missing 2 molars. Because of the missing teeth for an extended amount of time and probably other reasons, my bite wasn’t aligning properly. (Dr. Porter, you saw this immediately and within a month or so, you had retrained the muscles in my jaws to bite correctly.)
After the first cleaning, the hygienist went over her review with me, and we began to talk about an option that later would change my life and “smile” forever. She asked if I had heard of cosmetic rehabilitation and/or would I ever consider having this type of work done? She explained that from her observations and Dr. Porter’s observations, I would be a perfect candidate. My first reaction was, why and how much? Like most people, you think things should break before you fix them. After several discussions with my husband, and several discussions with Dr. Porter and his staff, I was certain I wanted to “fix” my teeth before they broke…and they were about to break.
It’s taken about six months to complete from beginning to end, but my how the time has flown by. Now I have no worries about my teeth, my smile. I even enjoy going in for cleanings and checkups.
The rehabilitation of my mouth has definitely changed my life for the better. I am constantly being stopped and asked, “Who is your dentist? What dental office do you go to? Your teeth are beautiful.” Of course, this is what we all like to hear. So to any of you who may be considering this procedure or who is in need of this procedure, don’t put it off. I recommend Big Horn Dental Clinic and its staff becomes your choice for any dental needs.
Dr. Porter and staff, thank you for all that you’ve done for me. It’s been so nice knowing that even though I am 2000 miles from home, I have a new home for all my dental needs.
